What should you know before choosing a kitchen faucet?
A kitchen faucet choice starts with how many holes the sink has, whether you want a pull-out or pull-down sprayer, and how the faucet mounts. The other choice is between a single-handle look and a two-handle layout with a side spray. Read the listing for which sprayer a faucet has before you buy.
On labels, the EPA has no criteria for kitchen faucets to earn the WaterSense label.
Which bathroom faucet suits a small sink?
A single-hole faucet suits a small sink, because it takes up the least space on the sink. A centerset faucet is a compact space-saver for smaller spaces, a wall-mounted faucet can be space-saving too, and a widespread faucet has separate left and right handles. Hole spacing is in the table on Sinks & Faucets.

What to check on a faucet at pickup
Open the carton and confirm it matches the product page and that every part the listing names is inside. Check the finish on the spout, handles and base under good light, and look over the threads and hoses for damage. For a faucet going on a drilled vanity top, see Bathroom Vanities.

Every faucet here also appears in Sinks & Faucets, and this category sits inside the kitchen range and the bathroom range. The measuring guide and the inspection guide cover the before and after.
Pickup: 239 Lindbergh Pl, Paterson, NJ 07503.
Frequently asked questions
Can a kitchen faucet carry the WaterSense label?
No. The EPA has no criteria for a kitchen faucet to earn the WaterSense label. The label covers bathroom sink faucets and faucet accessories that reduce a sink's water flow by 30 percent or more from the standard flow. Read a kitchen faucet's listing for its own flow figure.
Does a faucet come with a drain and supply lines?
Only if the listing says so. Read the specific faucet's listing for a drain assembly, supply lines and a deck plate, and count only the parts it names. Plan to buy anything else before install day, so a missing part does not stop the job once the old faucet is out.
How do I know a tall kitchen faucet will clear the cabinet above it?
Measure from the sink deck or countertop up to the underside of the cabinet, shelf or sill above the faucet. Then compare that distance with the faucet's overall height on its listing. A faucet taller than the gap will not fit under what hangs above it.
What should I check on a faucet's finish before I take it home?
Check the spout, the handles and the base under good light, starting with the faces that stay visible once the faucet is installed. Look for scratches, pitting and mismatched color between parts. Compare what you see with the grade and description on the product page.
